BDNY

COMPAC was present at BDNY, the most important event for design professionals in the hospitality sector on the east coast of the US, Canada and Europe.

COMPAC, The Surfaces Company, was present at BDNY (New York) over 10th and 11th November—the most important event for design professionals in the hospitality sector on the east coast of the US, Canada and Europe. The Spanish multinational attended the event in collaboration with ICEX, a Spanish public company that promotes the internationalisation of Spanish firms, and also received support from the Commercial Office of Spain in New York.

COMPAC’s attendance at the international fair meant the company could demonstrate its full product catalogue as well as some standout new developments in products and designs in décor. The company used stand 3027, covering around 30 metres squared, to demonstrate its quartz and marble samples set to become trend-setters this coming season.

In turn, the Spanish firm incited much interest in its developments in new materials, which will be officially presented in 2020. Both these new products and classic pieces from the COMPAC catalogue attracted attention from all kinds of visitors who came to the New York event: Sunday drew more of an international crowd whilst Monday saw an influx of professionals from the city and surrounding areas.

As well as setting the trend in surfaces for 2020, COMPAC representatives in New York were able to see first-hand what appeals to a more general public in terms of design and décor. Once again, whites and greys (with and without veins) were highlights from the many surface options on display at the fair. In this sense, for example, classic veined marble was a perfect match for the taste of the general public.

Nevertheless, beyond connecting with the public, what does being at BDNY mean for COMPAC? According to brand representatives at the event, the firm’s participation helps provide visibility and international impact—a hugely complicated task in such a competitive setting as New York. Here at the fair, clients seek out brands (and not the other way round) meaning that marketing can be much more successful.

Finally, the brand highly values the chance to network in one of world’s top cities, where it is much easier to build ties to the most respected agents in the sector. The whole experience could not have been any better and COMPAC is committed to coming back in 2020 with an official presentation of its new materials set to revolutionise the decorative surfaces sector.
